Spark an Excitement and LOVE of Learning Through Unit Study!

Tell Me About Learning Adventures!
Learning Adventures is a home based publishing company, dedicated to serving the needs of Christian homeschool families.

There are five planned books in the Learning Adventures series:

A WORLD OF ADVENTURE (Book 1) - covers Ancient Egypt through the Age of Exploration (approx. 2300 B.C. to A.D. 1600).
A NEW WORLD OF ADVENTURE (Book 2) - covers the years 1600-1800 in American History and a study of Canada
WESTWARD AND ONWARD (Book 3) - covers 1800-1860 in American History and a study of France, the United Kingdom, Mexico, Scandinavia, and China
A NATION TORN AND MENDED (Book 4) - covers 1860-1900 in American History and a study of other world regions (NOT YET AVAILABLE)
ADVENTURES IN A MODERN WORLD (Book 5) - covers the 20th century and a study of other world regions (NOT YET AVAILABLE)

Each of the books in the Learning Adventures series will cover skills and concepts for grades 4 through 8, and each will include a year (180 days) of lesson plans for all subjects except math.

Books two through five will be presented within the context of American history, but other countries, personalities, and events will also be covered as they apply to events in America.

Why A Learning Adventure?
Learning should be a wonderful adventure! Many parents believe that if their children are having too much fun, that they are not really learning. How sad that they do not realize that it is WHEN their children are having fun that learning IS taking place! It is when curiosity is piqued – when they are in the middle of a project and can't wait to find out more, when they are touching and experimenting and having real-life experiences that they are REALLY learning. Think about the interests of your children. When they are really intrigued by a certain thing, they want to find out everything they can about it – and most of all they like to practice doing it and trying new ways of improving their newfound skill. This is the natural way to learn!

If you are interested in trying something new and exciting for your next course of study, and you want to bring some enthusiasm back into learning, you've come to the right place!

What should I order if I'm just beginning the curriculum?
First of all, it's really important to start in the first book. It's always much more difficult to jump into the series in the middle. You will have gaps and frustrations if you do this. So, you will need to order A World of Adventure (that's your teacher's guide, which tells you exactly what to do every day), the Student Pages for A World of Adventure (for each student in grades 4-8, as these pages are consumable), and the Worlds of Adventure learning game. These three components work together to make your first year a successful one. The game includes all the daily review and reinforcement, and it replaces those quizzes and tests that other curricula incorporate (and we don't). It includes all vocabulary words and definitions as well as a review of the daily concepts in over 3,000 questions over the course of A World of Adventure. The questions are arranged in a daily format and the game is meant to be played daily or every few days for immediate and maximum reinforcement.

Can I buy the Learning Adventures books used?
Although there are used copies floating around out there, we really wish you wouldn't buy your materials used! Here's why . . . Learning Adventures is a small, family business. We operate from our home and are dedicated to providing the best quality curriculum at an affordable price. However, our ability to do this depends on your support! When people increasingly buy used products, we can't make a living, which leads to us having to support ourselves elsewhere and means that we can't write future materials for you! You can help the Learning Adventures series to continue and grow by supporting our ministry.
